A weekend with us!

As I was downloading photos off the camera I noticed that one could get a pretty good idea of how we spent our weekend in just a few pictures.
Friday night...Guitar Hero for 3. Well, 2 but Cole pretended to play. Future Rock Star in the making!
Saturday morning...after her nap Cole played dress up. Wanting to see what Sis would look like getting ready for Margaritaville.
Sunday morning...snoozing in the BOB after a morning jog with Mom.
Sunday afternoon...exhausted and sleeping in the pool chair, outside, after having too much fun in the pool at Grammy & Papas.

I am sure the kids will have this much fun with Daddy this coming weekend. It's my first trip away from Kenleigh. I am heading to Seattle on Saturday for business and to spend some time with my dad. For those of you following his progress, a nice article was written about him and Marcia in the Vancouver newspaper: http://www.columbian.com/news/2010/apr/18/still-working-as-a-team-fromholds-battle-cancers/

Growing girl!

Another beautiful weekend in Arizona...someone remind me of these days when I am complaining in August. ;)
Big week for Miss K! She turned 7 months old and officially graduated to her big girl car seat. Mommy and Daddy are sooo happy not to have to lug around that silly infant carrier any more. I am happy that another friend is pregnant so that I can move it along. Here is Sis in her new seat on Saturday morning...trying it out for the perfect fit before installing it in my car.

7 months old...man, can't get this girl to stop smiling now! Love her!

We also enjoyed another fun weekend with pool time. I think Cole really looks ready for some time in Margaritaville. Just another 18 1/2 years my friend...

Shawn and I are headed out for a parents only night. What a treat for us...2 times in the same month. I think this is the most ever since we had children. Off to a Sun's game!

Easter and an Earthquake

What a fun weekend! It's really true what they say, the holidays are so much more magical with kids!

The Easter Bunny came and left goodies for all. Notice K's basket is not quite as full as Cole's. Feeling kind of guilty about that now. Oh well, she probably won't remember.

Wait, she doesn't look too unhappy with her goodies...
We all headed out to church for the 11:30am service. Growing up we always went to church at 8am. Dad always wanted to get to church and back and not lose the whole day. Turns out as I've grown up, I feel the same way as Dad did! The 4 other Easter services on Sunday were during Kenleigh's morning nap, so we took the late shift.
A couple of highlights from church were when Cole stood up on the pew shouting, "I can't see him Mommy, I can't see him." Not sure if he wanted to see God or the Pastor. He also recognized Jesus (although referred to him as Baby Jesus) and told Shawn, "Daddy...Jesus has no shoes."

After church were all outside enjoying the beautiful weather when one of our friends noticed that our pool was looking kind of weird. Our calm, still pool was all of a sudden crashing waves over the side and water was rushing over the edges. We went inside to notice that all of our hanging light fixtures were swaying. We were feeling the earthquake from California! An Arizona first for me...been through 2 earthquakes in WA but never here in AZ!

The Easter Egg hunt was great. We had Cole's friend Grant over and the boys went to town looking for eggs. Cole got a little crazy and each egg he would find he would open it...eat all 5 jelly beans and then move onto the next egg. Here are the boys enjoying their treats!

In the middle of enjoying the fruits of their labors the sprinklers turned on. Cole and Grant decided to have an impromtu running through the sprinklers party. They were drenched but having the time of their lives.
Everyone had too much candy and Cole even woke up on Monday morning, came downstairs in his jammies and his first words were, "Mommy...where's my candy?"

That's my boy.

4 years and 2 kids later...

Not bad for a couple of sleep deprived parents of a toddler and infant. Today is our 4 year wedding anniversary. We celebrated like any good parents -- at Red Robin! Saturday we will celebrate like grown ups, no french fries allowed. ;)
