Happy 4th of July!
We survived yet another trip with Cole on an airplane, this was Take 3. Once again he was a trooper! When we landed in Seattle and were getting off the plane one gentleman even commented, wow I didn't even know there was a baby behind us! Good job Cole! Now, on the way back to Phoenix yesterday the same could not be said. He was feeling rather chatty yesterday and talked a lot for the first 20 minutes of the flight. Luckily the chat fest wore him out and he slept the rest of the flight waking up only minutes before we landed back in Phoenix. 109 degrees greeted us last night and it was a big change from the nice cool (and cloudy) temps in Seattle.
A few highlights are below. We waited until 9pm on the 4th of July to actually buy fireworks. You would be surprised how hard they were to find. The Cresswell kids were in luck, we finally found sparklers and a few other treasures. We had a visit from Catherine and her 2 little ones. Braeden is now 2 1/2 and little Addison is 4 months. It was great to see them, but you will notice is nearly impossible to get a good picture of 2 adults, 1 toddler and 2 babies under the age of 1. Oh well, we tried! I couldn't promise Amy that I wouldn't send this picture into CPS...just a note that Grace was just "holding" the beverage while Amy went to the bathroom. She will definitely win Mom of the Year if I submit this photo. :)

Another funny one, this is Phil pondering -- what is the crazy holiday you Yakees celebrate all about?
The visit was a whirlwind and I realize now that I didn't really get very many good pictures! I guess when your life involves chasing a crawling 8 month old around, you don't get the chance to take many pictures. I did capture Cole preparing for the Minor Leagues...
It was a wonderful trip and I am looking forward to going back in August to host a baby shower for my sister. She looks ready to have that baby, but has 3 more months to go!
We are having the entire inside of the house painted this coming weekend. We have a lot to do to get ready and are looking forward to spending the weekend at a local resort to get out of the fumes and the chaos.
More from the Blu's soon...!

Where the heck have the Blu's been?
Bad blogger, bad, bad blogger. I was informed earlier this week that I had "forgotten I had a blog" by a friend. Truth is, we got a new camera and I hadn't taken the time to install the software to get the pictures off the camera. So, now we are back in business and ready to update the world on the amazing Cole Blubaum.
I could make this picture an entire posting on it's own. I laughed for a long time about this. Cole is just starting finger foods and snacks on "puffs." He was happily eating this one when all of a sudden he couldn't find it anymore and was very confused. You can see the puff fell out of his mouth and landed right on his chin. I kept it there for my own amusement.
We've pulled out a few new toys for Cole and this one is a definite hit! If he can't strike it rich in the Major Leagues, maybe the NBA is always an option? He will definitely need height from Grandpa Fromhold!
First and foremost...we are CRAWLING! Cole officially became mobile on Father's Day. Turns out Guitar Hero wasn't the only gift Shawn was going to receive for Father's Day. Cole is quick and determined and into everything. Our family room got a lot larger last weekend when we moved the coffee table into the garage. From talking to friends with babies, it sounds like this is just all part of having little ones. You learn to live without a coffee table for a couple of years. We are adjusting well, but seriously considering purchasing TV trays. Yes, perhaps we are 80 year olds trapped in 30-something bodies.
Not only is Cole crawling, but he has also won 2, yes 2, crawling contests at daycare. He and another baby boy, Mason, were racing earlier this week. Sounds like Mason gave Cole a head start during one of the races...but Mason is 4 months older than Cole. Shawn is proud of Cole's competitive nature already. Major Leagues...here we come.
Another fun event -- Cole now has 2 teeth! This morning I was getting him dressed for daycare and took a peek and noticed another tooth is cutting through. As Shawn says, he'll be eating ribs in no time.
Speaking of ribs...Cole has started eating meat and boy is he a carnivore! He is loving turkey and chicken. Proof below...
Another new toy that he loves...his Diet Coke bottle. More proof he is my son...
We leave on Thursday to go to Olympia for the weekend. Looking forward to seeing family, especially my nephew...he turned 2 a few weeks ago! Also looking forward to seeing my sister's growing belly...if I haven't shared she is pregnant with baby #2...due October 12th...IT'S A GIRL!
It will be hot, hot, hot in the Valley of the Sun this weekend. More pool time and lots of sunblock in our future! Have a great weekend!

Ready, set...
What a big couple of weeks Cole has had! In the last 2 weeks he got a visit from Grandma Grentzer, Grandpa Bill and his Nana Marcia! It's been a busy time, but so wonderful to have family visiting. We are so homesick and looking forward to our visit to Seattle in just a few weeks.
A little bit of what Cole has been up to...
We are pretty sure he wants to crawl, in fact we KNOW we wants to crawl. He gets up on those hands and knees, starts rocking back and forth and then just cries, because he can't go anywhere! He started scooting on his knees this weekend, so we are feeling good that crawling will happen in the next week or so.
Saturday night he did not sleep well at all! It was like Cole's days of old...up at 11:45pm until 1am, then up again at 3am until 5am, and then up again at 6:30am. Ugh! The cause of the sleeplessness was discovered on Sunday morning. A tooth! It has just started to cut through, but there is definitely a little tooth on its way. So exciting! For now he has resumed being our good sleeper and we'll capture the tooth on camera as soon as we can.
Cole is now riding in luxury! After 7 months and 20+ lbs...Cole has graduated out of his little infant seat. Daddy and Grandpa installed his new seat on Sunday. It's so roomy and Cole looks so comfy having all the space. The bad part is now when he falls asleep in the car I can't just carry him in places to keep him asleep. I guess this is all part of growing up!
We enjoyed some great pool time over the weekend. Cole just loves being in the water and it's a great way for us all to stay cool as the temps rise!
I am in Long Beach on business until Thursday. Cole, please don't start to crawl while mommy is away. But...if you do...daddy, please capture it on the video camera for me. That's all.....!

Dude, Nice Hawk!
One of my favorite things about daycare is from time to time Miss Salina (one of Cole's teachers) will send him home with a mohawk. It always makes me so happy to pick him up and see him with the hawk, it just brings a smile to my face to think of my little baby boy as a Rocker in the making (no tattoo's please Cole!!).
Try and look past the drool...we're still teething here...
We are so excited that Grandma Grentzer arrives today! We plan to play in the pool with Cole and just enjoy her visit. 104 this weekend, so I am sure lots of pool time will be logged. Here is Cole saying "Grandma...I am ready for you...!"

Road Trip!
We survived. 14 hours in the car between Saturday and Monday. We survived. I give Cole credit for being a trooper. We headed to LA this weekend so Cole could meet his Great Grandma and other family. It was a great trip and Cole was adored by all!
We also learned over the weekend that Cole loves sweet potatoes. So far, he loves anything we put in his mouth. Today he tries carrots. I am sure we'll learn he is a fan as well.
Cole got some new clothes from his Great Grandma and we put the shorts on his head. He decided that the tags tasted really good!
We have another exciting weekend ahead. Grandma Grentzer arrives on Friday for a 5 day visit. She hasn't seen Cole since Christmas. She will be shocked by how much he's grown!

Show mommy how the piggy's eat!
Green Peas...a hit! Cole is really into his new foods. He woofs down the cereal and today he enjoyed a jar of peas. Turns out he is my son after all, as Shawn would never touch green veggies. Here is a picture of Cole enjoying his lunch!
