The final countdown...

I have been a very bad blogger this summer! I can't believe I haven't posted an update since July...and next week it is September. I couldn't go on record having not blogged at all in August...so I'll try to make this one short and sweet.
All is well in Arizona! We are on the final countdown to baby sister's arrival...2 weeks from today. I just can't believe she's so close to being here. We sit and think about how our life is going to be different once she's here, but I think really nothing can prepare us to return to sleepless nights, baby contraptions filling our house and itty bitty clothes and diapers. At least the garage will finally look emtpy, once the swing, bouncer, Bumbo, activity center, highchair, etc. all move into the house. :)

The big boy room/bed transition was a success and I am happy to say that Cole officially loves his room. From time to time he does say "baby room?" and wants to go into baby sisters's room to have his diaper changed, etc. He likes to pull out all the baby toys from her closet and many of them he recognizes from when he was a baby. He then says, "No! Coles!" and then he takes the toys to his room. Ahhh...sharing at it's finest.
Here is a picture of her room, starting to come together. There are still quite a few things left to do...but it's a start!
I had a special treat a couple of weeks ago when some girlfriends flew in for a girls weekend and while they were here hosted a baby shower for me and baby sister. We had such a fun weekend and I feel so lucky that after all these years these gals are still my closest friends. It certainly was not a "wild" weekend...3 pregnant ladies and 1 nursing mom made for a quiet version of our normal girl's weekends.

Starting this weekend we will have family in town non-stop until October 4th. My sister and Autumn come this weekend and then my dad and his wife arrive, staying for a week. They are graciously taking care of Cole while Shawn and I are at the hospital. Then my mom is coming to stay for a week and then my sister returns for a 2 week visit. We're so excited to share the first few weeks of baby sister's life with my family.

Also exciting is Shawn's parents move! For those of you that don't know, they are coming to live full time in Arizona. The movers are packing them up today and we anticipate they will be AZ residents by this weekend. My mother-in-law Virginia will be taking care of baby sister full time when I return to work in December.

I think that is about it for updates! I will take pictures this weekend when Auntie and Cousin Autumn are in town and hopefully update the blog one more time in August!
