I'm a big kid now!

It was another big weekend for Coley. He officially has his own big boy room! Saturday's mission was to get him all set up and dad got it done, just in time. I think he wrapped up about 7:30pm, when we put Cole in the bath and started our new nightime routine in the new room!
So far Cole seems to like his new room. He is still waking up from time to time and getting upset that no one else is in there with him, but I assume that will pass as he starts to feel more safe in his new surroundings. I try to remind him that he has actually slept alone his entire life, so this really should be no change.

His new bed has a trundle which should be fun for sleepovers later in life! For now it serves as the step Cole uses to get up into his new bed. We pull the trundle out at night so he can get in and out. Otherwise he could get out but not back in and that sounds like more work for mom and dad, so he gets to have the step for now.

Please send us good sleep juju as we need it. The transition the last month has not been an easy one. We decided to just jump all the way in and get the big boy bed as we have 7 weeks to get our great sleeper back into his routine. Tick tock, tick tock!

How I spent my Saturday morning...

You can imagine in a place where it reaches 112 by lunch time, we do any outside play first thing in the morning, before 8am strikes.

Here is how Cole spent his Saturday morning. Most of the time he can't even wait to get out of his PJ's before he is standing at the door saying "Momma, outside! Shoes! Bubbles! Outside!" His enthusiasm for the outdoors is impressive seeing as how I have tried with no success to get him to appreciate TV. Oh well, we'll look back when he is 12 and glued to his XBox and remember the days when we couldn't keep him ON the couch.

Taking a quick banana break...
Perfecting his "cheese!"

I realized I forgot to post any pictures of our 4th of July trip. Cole loved the lake and had fun swimming with daddy! Weather was great in Seattle...but no A/C and 90 degrees was cause for complaints from this pregnant lady.

8 weeks until baby sister arrives...!
