It's never to early to start...

Will Britney and Kevin reconcile? Will Lauren and Heidi ever be BFF's again? Is Angelina pregnant with twins? These are the questions that consume me each week until Saturday afternoon comes, the mail is delivered and I get my fix! Those of you who know me know that I LOVE my rag mags. Saturday is a delight when my US Weekly and my People magazine arrive in the mail. I have mastered the US Weekly and can read it cover to cover in 7 minutes.

You can imagine how proud I was to find my husband and son on the patio this week endulging in one of my favorite past times. Who would have known that at 5 months Cole would become a pop culture junky just like mommy. What I found most interesting about this experience is what they were REALLY looking at in the magazine...geesh...MEN!

All dressed up and trying to go somewhere...

We finally figured out what 4 1/2 months of no sleep does to you...makes you the most disorganized people on earth. Today is Easter Sunday. We had our normal chaotic morning of rising at 4am with a baby that just doesn't want to sleep. Church started at 9:30am. I fed Cole at 6:30am and then began ironing everyone's clothes so we would look daper for the big day. I got myself dressed, Cole dressed and we were starting to head out the door when Cole started fussing. We stopped, looked at each other and realized the time. How had we forgotten that he would need to eat again? So at 9:15am we took off our shoes and sat down. Time to feed Cole again. Shawn went and checked, the next church service was exactly when he would need to eat again. Agh! Since we were dressed, we decided to take pictures to document our efforts.

We know the lord will understand that we just haven't quite yet gotten the hang of this parenting thing. When Cole wakes up from his nap later this morning we will all say "He has risen! He has risen indeed!"

Happy Easter from the Blu's!

Cole is 4 months old!

4 months...1/3 of a year. I can't believe how fast the time is going by. We had Cole's 4 month check up yesterday and here are the updated stats:

He is now weighs 15lb 7oz (50th percentile)
He is 25 3/4" long (75th percentile)
His head is 16 1/2" (50th percentile)

He is right on target doing all the things he should be...rolling over, talking all the time and putting everything he can find in his mouth. He endured 4 more shots, but luckily this time I was prepared and gave him tylenol ahead of time. He was a bit fussy during the day, but when I picked him up from daycare he was all smiles for mama.

Shawn is home now! Cole and I enjoyed 4 days of mommy and me time. We had a great time, but are certainly happy that daddy is back. We missed him! Shawn is walking funny and realizes that at 34, only snowboarding once a year won't cut it. He is sore as can be...

Here are a couple of new pictures of Cole. He is still kind of bald (and still looking like a red head) but he is really growing up. He is a love!

Cole really likes the bottle...

Here is a picture of Cole and daddy enjoying a bottle...a bottle of beer that is! He has finally started facing out in the Bjorn and loves to see what is going on in the world (and occassionally what is on the TV...bad Cole, bad...)!

Argh!

As promised, the pirate pics of Shawn. Yesterday Shawn had surgery on his eye to have a chelasian removed that formed when we were in the hospital having Cole. Once they finally got in there (4 months later), they ended up removing multiple chelasian's. We are all happy to have Daddy's beautiful eyes back. Cole was quite wide eyed staring at daddy last night with the patch on his eye. Here is a picture of them this morning before we went to have the mighty patch removed. If you look closely you will notice that I appropriately dressed Cole in his pirate "ARGH" onesie.
Today we take Auntie and Cousin Lukas to the airport and Shawn and I are really, truly, officially on our own. Cole had a great week, despite missing mommy terribly I am sure. We made the executive decision to take him off his reflux medication as he had been miserable ever since he went on it in January. Monday was his first day off the medicine and I came back from San Francisco to a different baby. He's back to my smiley, sleeping, cutie pie. Last night he slept for 8 hours. Glory days may be here again...
We will miss having Auntie and Lukas here to visit. He's such a sweet little boy!
